Megan Acre, Principal

Welcome to Ocean Bay Elementary School! Whether you're a returning family or joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to have you as part of the OBE community. 

I’m Megan Acre, and I’m honored to continue serving our school community as the principal at Ocean Bay Elementary School! This is my tenth year at OBE, where I've served as an assistant prinicpal for seven years and interim principal for two years. My previous experience in education includes serving as an instructional coach and seven years in the classroom, where I taught special education, and third and fourth grades. I have dual Bachelor's degrees in Elementary and Special Education from Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania and a Master's in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. Following a move from Pennsylvania 20 years ago, my family has found the Myrtle Beach area to be our home where I reside in the Carolina Forest community with my husband and son.

Ocean Bay Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade with opportunities for enrollment in the Child Development and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classes. We believe in empowering students to embrace responsibility as they become lifelong independent thinkers and learners, and we strive to provide engaging and challenging curricula based on the individual readiness of each student in a safe and nurturing environment.

This year, our focus is to embrace a champion mindset. We’re committed to supporting ongoing social, emotional and academic growth of our students. At OBE, our faculty and staff are champions for our students and look forward to celebrating their success!

We know that student success is best achieved through strong partnerships between home, school, and the community. We invite you to volunteer with our PTO, join us for Family Nights and other school events, and stay connected through our social media page and school newsletter. Your voice matters, and we’re here to work together to ensure every student thrives.
