Megan Acre, Interim Principal

Mrs. Acre joined the Ocean Bay Elementary family as our assistant principal in August 2016. Although she was new to our building at that time, she was not new to Horry County Schools.  Mrs. Acre came to us from River Oaks Elementary where she served as the part-time assistant principal and part-time instructional coach.  Mrs. Acre also has experience as an instructional coach at River Oaks Elementary and Kingston Elementary.  During her seven years in the classroom, she taught special education, and third and fourth grades.  She earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary and Special Education from Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University.  

Mrs. Acre, her husband, and their son reside in Carolina Forest.  Despite moving from Pennsylvania in 2006, Mrs. Acre and her family have found the Myrtle Beach area to be home.  They attend The Rock Church in Conway and are active members in the community.  

Mrs. Acre is committed to ensuring a safe learning environment for all students so that they may succeed in meeting their academic and personal goals.  She enjoys the opportunity to work closely with Ocean Bay Elementary School parents, community, and staff to support our students and celebrate their achievements.
